I have a new, working computer and things are almost back to being set up how I like them (or better)! This means I have the ability to start… slogging through my back work. Ah well. I should be caught up after a couple of more days 😉
What I’ve been snatching fragments of time to write down are the plots to New Year, New Me and Oranges, Ocean, & Oak. The first one has been completely planned up to the last chapter. It’s changed from a novella into a novel now, and I think I’ll be switching the POV from Char, the main character in the urban fantasy series, to a repeating side character. This way Char will have her series, and my as-of-yet unnamed character will have her own series. It’ll work out much better than my original plan, so I’m happy for that. Oranges, Ocean, and Oak has been plotted about… 1/3 of the way? This one will (thankfully) stay a novella, and follows Nyssa, Sky, and Yuki as they take a winter vacation in Florida.
June and July will be very busy months for me, and while I’m honestly looking forward to it, I’m also a little worried (usually only June is a busy month). This year I want to attend the Nebulas (early June), with the help of wonderful writers Writer’s CONduit will be going on (late June), and then July has Camp NaNoWriMo (50k is my usual), Summer Camp with World Anvil (finishing 31 worldbuilding prompts by the end of the month), The Writer’s Games will begin the first weekend of July, and July is also the next Festival at 4thewords (which usually gets me to go beyond that 50k). There’s also a fanfiction exchange that I want to take part in, the Just Married one that has fun with pairings going through that tag in a variety of ways.
I haven’t even thought of August, but I’m sure something—oh, wait. I remember what happens in August. The first weekend is the last event of The Writer’s Games, but the whole month is dedicated to 31 Days, 31 Stories being run by TheLadyWrites (Twitch handle). I look forward to that as well (and weirdly enough, I look forward to relaxing a little bit more in August). Thinking about it, it’s a good thing I love wording since I’m surrounded by all these word-events!
I hope you’re having a great week, and if not, that’ll it get better for you soon!
